Security Systems in Sussex County

Even though you may live in a safe neighborhood, you can still get burgled. Some burglars will take advantage of a low crime rate because they know that many homes have unlocked doors or windows, and are not protected by security systems. If you would like to install a security system in Sussex County, T&R Alarm Systems Inc is the best around.

We have been installing alarm systems in Sussex County for over four decades. We can look out for your home or business so that you and your things are all secure. We can install both burglar and fire alarms. Fire alarms may be an easy installation for a single family home. You just insert some batteries and mount it on the wall. But a fire alarm system for commercial buildings and apartment complexes needs to comply with complicated fire codes. You may not be familiar with all the rules, but we are well-aware. Let us install your fire alarm system and ensure that it is completely up to code.

Another advantage to having one of our security systems is that you do not have to rely on the police. They sure know how to take their sweet time when they are called. It is not uncommon for us to arrive at a crime scene prior to the police. There has even been a case where one of our technicians left his own brother’s wedding to check up on a burglary at one of our client’s businesses.

If you are in need of security systems in Sussex County, we have the most experience to decide on the best way to secure your home or business. For more information on any of our services, call us at 1-800-486-5019.

Top Ten Strangest Things Ever Stolen

Automobiles, electronics and of course, cash are very popular targets for burglary and theft. Also commonly stolen are artwork, jewelry and debit/credit cards. Occassionally you'll hear about a stolen animal, decorative weapon or tool set. You rarely hear about prosthetic limbs being stolen, but it does happen. Even more strange are the stolen items on this list, you won't believe the crazy things people have taken.
  1. Sand - Hundreds of truckloads of sand were stolen from Coral Springs beach in Jamaica. No arrests have been made in this case and it is believed a police coverup was involved. The likely culprit is in the tourism industry as there has been somewhat of a sand shortage in the area.
  2. A 10 Ton Steel Bridge - Yes, you read that right. An entire bridge was stolen in the Czech Republic. Forged paperwok and fake checks were involved and individuals were led to believe the government ordered the bridge dismantled. The entire bridge was taken apart and likely sold for scrap due to a demand for steel in the area. By the time officials realized the workers were a fraud, the bridge was gone and so were the men. No arrests were made and the railroad bridge will cost millions of dollars to replace.
  3. A Front Lawn - One day, a family left their London area home to visit relatives. When they returned the next day, their entire front lawn was gone, only dirt in it's place. Neighbors reported seeing a white truck but assumed it was simply landscapers.
  4. A Vending Machine - A young man had the bright idea of stealing a small vending machine from a pub. There were dozens of witnesses and he was apprehended immediately by the police. They found him with the contents of the machine and nearly $50 in quarters.
  5. A 400 Pound Bronze Elephant -  A Texas couple had a treasured statue chained to their porch for years. Bon Bon Babar was a very special gift and the couple was heartbroken when the bronze elephant was stolen. No one has been caught yet but the couple is offering a $500 reward for its return.
  6. A 350 Pound Inflatable Gorilla - An oversized inflatable gorilla was tied to the roof of a car dealership in Sima Valley, California to attract customers. It worked, but attracted thieves as well, with the primate being stolen during the night. No arrests were made but it is suspected several individuals were involved.
  7. A Live Shark - A live shark was stolen from an aquatic center in the U.K. The two foot long female shark was one half of the only marble shark breeding pair in the United Kingdom. The case was particularly upsetting as the shark recently has six baby sharks who are now without a mother.
  8. The Worlds Largest Egg Hat - A South African man was touring in Germany with his record breaking egg hat, he suffered heat stroke and was hospitalized, when he awoke, his hat was gone. Mr Da Silva's egg hat performances were his way of life and he hopes the hat will be returned.
  9. 300 Manhole Covers - Three hundred manhole covers, weighing up to 300 pounds each, were stolen off the streets of Los Angeles. The theives were eventually caught and it was discovered they had been selling the covers at $6 a piece for scrap. As an interesting side note, they would have made much more selling aluminum cans.
  10. A Life Size Replica of E.T. - A Portsmouth grandmother reported that a life size replica of E.T. valued at nearly $5000 was stolen from her home. Her granddaughter handsculpted the figure and she was devastated by it's disappearance. A year later, the coast guard recieved a distress call about a body floating in the sea - it was E.T., a litte worse for the wear but still intact!
