Burglar Alarm Systems in NJ

Home burglar alarm systems utilize a multitude of sensors to protect your family and home. Deciding which sensor is best for your application is made easier with this breakdown.
  • Passive infrared detectors (PIR) – the most common sensor found in homes and small businesses. These sensors detect abrupt increases in temperature, as is the case when an intruder enters your home or business.
  • Photo-electric beams – Everyone is familiar with the spy movie when a “laser” beam is projected across a floor to detect intruders. This is not that, but it is close. By transmitting visible or infrared beams across an area, where the beams may be obstructed, it is an effective detection system. Although if an intruder is aware of the sensors they may be avoided.
  • Glass break detectors – These sensors are sensitive to the sound frequencies associated with glass breaking. Shock sensors, or seismic sensors, also detect breaking glass, but are sensitive to the vibration frequency of breaking glass.
  • Microwave barriers – The device produces an electromagnetic beam using high frequency waves that pass from a transmitter to a receiver. When the receiver detects a difference in condition between the beam, the system analyzes the situation.

The effectiveness of an burglar alarm system depends greatly the alarm company installing it. TR Alarm has the experience and knowledge to ensure that your alarm system is working the way the manufacturer intended.

CCTV System Installation in NJ

Last May, an explosion at a fertilizer plant in West TX brought to light the fact that there are 473 chemical factories in the United States that could put thousands of people at risk if anything happened. Because of this, President Obama established a group of officials comprised of representatives from the EPA, Department of Labor and Homeland Security to create a list of potential risks from chemical factories and come up with ways to make them safer. They released their report earlier this months which includes suggestions to strengthen regulations and more safely store dangerous chemicals.

Greenpeace initially reported that at least 100,000 people are at risk and believes that the plants should put more of a focus on risk prevention rather than management. Their plan recommends that any harmful chemicals in a business's possession be fully disclosed. They urge that a wider range of professions be included, such as oil and gas drillers as well as farmers. However, the American Chemistry Council has already rejected many of these ideas, claiming that they would over-complicate an already complicated process.

One way to make any facility safer is to add closed circuit television systems. T&R Alarm Systems Inc is a professional security company that provides CCTV System Installation in NJ and the Tri-State Area. We have over 40 years of experience in security systems and stay current on all of the constantly-updating technology. There are a lot of variables that are to be considered when installing an alarm system. Our technicians know the best equipment to use for any given situation as well as the best way to set it up.

Backup Generators NJ

On December 22, two men allegedly broke into a Fair Lawn Subway and stole $130 and a laptop. The two men were caught on tape by the restaurant’s security cameras. It is important to have security cameras and alarms installed into your business in case such an emergency arises.

T&R Alarm Systems Inc is a professional security company that installs alarm systems to residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Along with CCTV cameras, we also install backup generators in NJ. With all of the extreme snow storms that we have been experiencing in recent years, it is not uncommon for the power to go out. Apart from the inconvenience of not having power, prolonged outages can be dangerous in the freezing weather.

If you own or manage a business or large commercial building,  it is necessary to get power back on as quickly as possible. The controller will start up the NJ backup generators 30 seconds after loss of power, ensuring that everything and everyone are safe.

If you would like more information on NJ backup generators, contact T&R Alarm Systems Inc.

NJ Passes Emergency Alarm School System

Recently the NJ Senate OK'd a bill which requires emergency lights and panic alarms in schools. This new bill will not only require the safety measures for public schools, it will also be funded by the state. The legislation which imposes these requirements came in response in the wake of the tragic school shootings around the country. The bill unanimously passed the Senate Budget Committee.
The panic alarm system would have a direct link to local police, and will not be audible within the school. The emergency light will be placed on the school's exterior to make the location clearer to emergency response units. These units would be separate from the fire system in the school and would be reserved for other emergencies.
Lawmakers estimate that the emergency alert system in schools will cost between one thousand, to five thousand dollars per school. The measure passed the Assembly last month, and still needs to pass the full Senate before the current legislative session ends next week.

Alarms such as these have seen a rise in installation. Most building owner's have put an emphasis on security, employee and resident safety. TR Alarm Systems is an alarm installation company that specializes in commercial and industrial security systems.

Elevator Security Systems in NJ

Elevator security systems in NJ are essential for residential and commercial buildings. Elevator access control systems allow people to access certain floors within a certain time frame. This can limit the access depending on a person's classification, the time of day or which elevator to use. These security systems implement several different features to maintain the security of the building.
  • CCTV elevator security systems NJ – allow you to view who uses the elevator at what time of the day. This can also help in the case that someone vandalizes the inside of the elevator or there is an emergency.
  • Card readers for elevators – limits the access each individual is given. Can assign certain permissions to the card and let residents or employees to access floors.
  • Bio-metric readers to restrict call button access – an extra level of security against possible duplication of cards. These bio-metric systems read a persons thumbprint, if clearance is given they are allowed access to the elevator.
  • Fire recall buttons – In case there is a fire and the alarm is notified the elevator will prevent civilians from accessing it. At this point only firefighters are allowed to use the elevator. This can be a critically important tool in any tall building with many occupants where minutes matter the most.
  • Emergency Phones – If the elevator faults and there are occupants inside, this allows them to reach an emergency number and prevent the occupants from becoming trapped. It will notify emergency personnel to the problem and alerting them to the situation as soon as possible.

If you are interested in elevator security systems NJ, call TR Alarm today and have a free on-site elevator safety evaluation done.

Windowless Basement Fire Alarm Installation NJ

During the 1960's and 70's New Jersey, like the rest of the country experienced a rash of house fires and fire-related deaths. In 1983 New Jersey enacted Uniform Fire Safety Act (UFSA), the purpose of which was to create a uniform method of protection by stating a minimum fire safety code. This ensures the safety of the state's citizens and their property against the hazards of fire. One of the highlighted points in the Acts guidelines was the requirements for NJ windowless basement fire alarm installation. The guideline states:

(h) In all buildings, any windowless basement or story located below the seventh story shall be equipped throughout with an automatic fire suppression system installed in accordance with the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code.

1. Stories or basements shall not be considered windowless when there is provided on at least one side of such story or basement fire fighter access through openings, such as windows, doors or access panels, that are located entirely above the adjoining grade level.

Not only are these guidelines to protect you but to protect the firefighters who may have to enter your home. There are several precautions you could take to ensure that you are alerted in the event a fire in your basement. One step is installing a windowless basement fire alarm, this should be done by someone who is familiar with all of the UFSA codes.
