Burglar Alarm Systems in NJ

Home burglar alarm systems utilize a multitude of sensors to protect your family and home. Deciding which sensor is best for your application is made easier with this breakdown.
  • Passive infrared detectors (PIR) – the most common sensor found in homes and small businesses. These sensors detect abrupt increases in temperature, as is the case when an intruder enters your home or business.
  • Photo-electric beams – Everyone is familiar with the spy movie when a “laser” beam is projected across a floor to detect intruders. This is not that, but it is close. By transmitting visible or infrared beams across an area, where the beams may be obstructed, it is an effective detection system. Although if an intruder is aware of the sensors they may be avoided.
  • Glass break detectors – These sensors are sensitive to the sound frequencies associated with glass breaking. Shock sensors, or seismic sensors, also detect breaking glass, but are sensitive to the vibration frequency of breaking glass.
  • Microwave barriers – The device produces an electromagnetic beam using high frequency waves that pass from a transmitter to a receiver. When the receiver detects a difference in condition between the beam, the system analyzes the situation.

The effectiveness of an burglar alarm system depends greatly the alarm company installing it. TR Alarm has the experience and knowledge to ensure that your alarm system is working the way the manufacturer intended.
